Equinox says cyberattack exposed client and employee health information

Equinox, a counselling and health services company, announced a data breach on Friday that exposed the private health information of some of its staff members and past and present clients. Equinox has informed everyone who may have been impacted.

On April 29, the business found a strange activity in its system. After an independent forensic investigation, it learned that an “unauthorized actor accessed and potentially acquired certain files stored within its internal systems.”

Individuals’ names, social security numbers, bank account details, and medication-related information are just a few examples of the data that might have been exposed.

“Equinox has implemented additional security features to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future,” the company said.
