In a significant interstate operation, 18 people were detained by the Hyderabad City Cyber Crimes section for their roles in 319 cyber fraud cases in India, including 45 cases in Telangana, which included defrauding victims out of ₹6.94 crore. Ten significant fraud cases targeting victims in Hyderabad and Secunderabad were discovered as a result of the operation, which was headed by Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand.

Three of the people detained were found to be the main architects of several fraud schemes. The accused were implicated in various forms of fraud, including digital fraud, sextortion, investment schemes, OTP fraud, and insurance fraud. The bank accounts of the fraudsters had ₹1.61 crore successfully frozen by the police.

It was discovered that the defendants, who were apprehended after being tracked down from states including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, were engaged in complex cyber scams. Notable people from Mumbai are accountant Nikesh Bhati, accountant supplier Sanjay Biman Das, and impersonator Amir Kashinath Jadav. Arrests were also made in Karnataka, Ajmer, and other places.

In the course of the operation, the police confiscated 26 cell phones, 16 ATM cards, seven passbooks, eleven checkbooks, ten SIM cards that were being used fraudulently, and more than 5 lakh in cash.

In order to prevent cybercrime, C.V. Anand stressed the need for public awareness and urged people to use caution while disclosing personal information online, especially on dating and investment platforms. Call the toll-free hotline 1930 to report suspicious activity to the police right away.

Cyber Crime Police Station Inspectors Mattam Raju, P. Pramod Kumar, M. Seetharamulu, K. Prasada Rao, and S. Naresh, along with other officers overseen by ACPs Siva Maruthi and Sri Chand Basha, played crucial roles in the operation, which was led by DCP Cyber Crimes Dara Kavitha.
