Google representatives praised the government for its advancements in digital infrastructure.

It was revealed on Tuesday that tech giant Google will collaborate with Andhra Pradesh to provide artificial intelligence (AI) applications in fields like skill development, startup ecosystems, healthcare, and agriculture.

Under the initiative “AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google,” a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Google and the state government.

“This comprehensive partnership will encompass AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability, as well as skill development, startup ecosystems, AI workforce cultivation, MSME support through digital credit, and AI-driven governance,” the state government said after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s videoconference with Google and YouTube leadership.

Key Google representatives, including Sreenivasa Reddy, Managing Director, Government Affairs, India; Leslie Miller, Global VP, YouTube; Sanjay Gupta, President, Asia Pacific Region at Google; and Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, joined the videoconference.

The purpose of the gathering was to discover potential for strategic partnership between tech leaders and the state to promote technological advancement.

Enhancing digital infrastructure, developing skills, and utilizing technology for effective governance were among the topics discussed. Chief Minister Naidu emphasized how committed the government is to creating a supportive atmosphere for technological innovation.

“Andhra Pradesh is on a trajectory to become India’s digital epicenter, and we are enthused about the prospects of partnering with global pioneers like Google and YouTube,” Naidu affirmed.

Representatives from Google praised the government for its advancements in digital infrastructure and reaffirmed their dedication to fostering innovation and skill development in India.

Naidu had earlier claimed that he had talked with the company’s executives about opening a YouTube Academy in Amaravati. According to an official statement, both parties decided to look further into the potential that was found, in addition to the proposed YouTube Academy in Amaravati.

The Chief Minister said on ‘X’ that he was thrilled to have a virtual conversation with Google APAC Head Sanjay Gupta and YouTube Global CEO Neal Mohan.

“We discussed setting up a YouTube Academy in Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with local partners, to foster AI, content development, skill development, and certification programmes,” he posted. “Furthermore, we explored avenues for providing technical support for the Media City initiative in our capital, Amaravati.”

Naidu has proposed nine theme cities, including Media City, as part of the state capital of Amaravati.
