Google is establishing a new hub in France dedicated to the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, which will open on Thursday, according to a statement from the French Finance Ministry.

On Wednesday, the government said that the new Google hub in Paris would house some 300 researchers and engineers, emphasizing France’s status as a premier technology center.

President Emmanuel Macron has been keen on promoting France’s technology sector, which has traditionally trailed behind the United States and the United Kingdom as a software and finance hub.
