According to its website, Safe Superintelligence is an American company with operations in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. In a post on X, Sutskever revealed the news that he was launching the business.

“Our singular focus means no distraction by management overhead or product cycles, and our business model means safety, security, and progress are all insulated from short-term commercial pressures,” according to the article. Daniel Gross, a co-founder of Cue and a former AI head at Apple, and Daniel Levy, a former researcher at OpenAI, join Sutskever as co-founders of Safe Superintelligence. Following his pivotal involvement in CEO Sam Altman’s dramatic firing and rehire in November of last year, Sutskever left Microsoft-backed OpenAI in May. Following Altman’s return, Sutskever was dismissed from the board of the firm.
