Hiroshi Yoshizane appointed by Bridgestone India as MD

Yoshizane was employed by Bridgestone Japan as Executive Vice President of Solution Business, Retail & Service Business, before coming to Bridgestone India.

Hiroshi Yoshizane was named Managing Director of Bridgestone India, a prominent supplier of tires and sustainable mobility solutions, on Monday.

Stefano Sanchini, who will be assuming the position of Vice President – Consumer Replacement for Europe, will be replaced by Yoshizane. According to a release, Sanchini became the managing director in January 2023.

Yoshizane was employed by Bridgestone Japan as Executive Vice President of Solution Business, Retail & Service Business, before coming to Bridgestone India.

Hiroshi Yoshizane, Managing Director, Bridgestone India, said, “India is a strategic, evolving, and growing market for Bridgestone, with a unique set of opportunities and challenges, as the country’s automotive sector is poised for major advances both in terms of numbers and technology. I look forward to working with our partners and the Bridgestone team to serve our customers, vehicle manufacturers, and the communities at large.”

Stefano Sanchini, VP – Consumer Replacement, Bridgestone Europe, said, “My India tenure has been very fulfilling and a great learning experience, as the diversity and complexities of the Indian market are unique to the country. I am sure that these learnings will hold me in good stead in my new assignment.”

With its global headquarters located in Tokyo, Bridgestone Asia Pacific employs around 130,000 individuals and operates in over 150 countries and territories.

In 1996, Bridgestone India opened for business. It established a manufacturing plant in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh, in 1998. In 2013, the company established a second plant in Chakan, Pune, as part of its facility expansion. According to the company, the Indore factory will begin producing 100 million tires in 2023.
