People familiar with the matter say that Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is expected to receive unconditional EU antitrust approval for its $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, a maker of networking equipment.
According to persons familiar with the situation, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) (HPE.N) is anticipated to obtain unqualified EU antitrust approval for its $14 billion acquisition of networking equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks (JNPR.N). The agreement, which HPE announced in January, highlighted the rush that businesses are making to update and create new products in the face of a dramatic increase in artificial intelligence-driven services. The European Commission declined to comment, saying that it would make a decision on the pact by August 1.
Other people with direct knowledge of the subject had previously said that HPE was anticipated to highlight the strength of market leader and Juniper rival Cisco (CSCO.O) to soothe any potential concerns about competition in the European Union. Britain’s antitrust watchdog is also evaluating the deal; a ruling is anticipated on August 14.
