HUD appoints Sairah Ijaz as a chief information officer

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has appointed Sairah Ijaz as its chief information officer. Ijaz has over 20 years of expertise in government IT.

Ijaz said she looks forward to strengthening HUD’s security posture, working with others on cutting-edge platforms, and putting forward-thinking initiatives into practice in a LinkedIn post announcing her appointment.

Ijaz’s Career History

She was in charge of IT platforms and service delivery, data governance, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication to promote digital transformation in her prior role as deputy CIO at HUD.

IT positions in the Government Accountability Office, the Social Security Administration, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission were held by the qualified project management professional.

Ijaz worked as a manager at Grant Thornton for three years, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The CIO is currently enrolled at Georgetown University to pursue a master’s degree in business analytics after earning a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Maryland’s R.H. Smith School of Business.
