The Union Home Ministry, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under MHA, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur’s C3iHub have joined forces to launch the six-month cybersecurity residential course known as the ‘Cyber Commando Training Programme.’

In order to address the growing cybersecurity challenges, the program seeks to construct Central Police Organizations (CPOs) and train cyber commandos throughout India. These professionals will be essential in defending digital infrastructures and handling cyberattacks.

This comprehensive training provides hands-on experience across multiple cybersecurity domains to 38 officials from central and state police agencies. These applicants will be able to handle security risks, react to situations, and put strong defences in place in a variety of crucial industries thanks to the training.

According to the press release, the program’s introduction marks a significant advancement in India’s cybersecurity capabilities by giving experts the know-how they need to handle the country’s complex and ever-changing cyber scene.

Prof. Amalendu Chandra, Acting Director of IIT Kanpur, emphasized the importance of this initiative. He said, “The Cyber Commando Training Program is a crucial step in India’s efforts to protect its digital infrastructure. The collaboration between C3iHub, I4C, and the Union Home Ministry reflects our shared commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce capable of responding to the growing sophistication of cyber threats facing the country.”
