India's AI-driven tech future is discussed as PM Modi meets with Satya Nadella

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Microsoft CEO and chairman Satya Nadella on Monday and conveyed his satisfaction with the company’s ambitious plans for investment and development in India.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “It was indeed a delight to meet you, Satya Nadella! Glad to know about Microsoft’s ambitious expansion and investment plans in India. It was also wonderful discussing various aspects of tech, innovation and AI in our meeting”.

Nadella is in India for three days.

After the meeting, Nadella thanked Modi for his leadership and said, “Excited to build on our commitment to making India AI-first and work together on our continued expansion in the country to ensure every Indian benefits from this AI platform shift”.

In Bangalore and Delhi, Nadella will speak to Microsoft’s customers and other interested parties about artificial intelligence.

In February 2024, Nadella made his most recent trip to India.

During his most recent visit, the chairman of Microsoft emphasized the critical role that India’s developer community plays in creating innovative products and solutions that address the country’s problems and can be implemented globally.

Then, in order to enable individuals and organizations to prosper in the AI future, he introduced Microsoft’s new skilling investment in India. Through its Advanta(I)ge India project, Microsoft will use the investment to offer AI skilling opportunities to 2 million Indians by 2025.

Additionally, Nadella has declared that the Code; Without Barriers initiative will be expanded to India in 2024, providing 75,000 women engineers with certification and skill development opportunities.
