Shiv Kumar Bhasin has moved on from the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) to join IndusInd Bank and has taken on the role of Chief Transformation Officer at the bank. At NSE, Bhasin served as EVP and Group Chief Technology and Operations Officer for more than four years.
He is likely to work directly with the MD/CEO’s office, with a mandate for technology and business solution transformation for IndusInd Bank. Further details about his role and responsibilities in this new position are still awaited.
Bhasin is recognised by his peers in the IT and BFSI sectors as a transformative leader. He has nearly 28 years of extensive global experience in the banking and financial services industries.
He led IT strategy and technology initiatives at Fortune 500 companies such as State Bank of India, Barclays, and Fidelity Investments, besides an illustrious stint at India’s leading stock exchange and the world’s largest derivatives exchange by number of contracts traded.
By leveraging agile, cutting-edge, and cognitive technologies to enhance the performance, security, and efficiency of the exchange, he was instrumental in making the exchange a strong, resilient, and scalable platform as the EVP and CTO/COO at NSE.
He, during his tenure as the global CTO of SBI, was a key architect in setting up India’s first comprehensive digital banking and services platform, SBI YONO, which reportedly became the first digital bank in the world to break even in less than two years time.
