Orea, who is appointed as the Chief of Transformation in the parent company of Indigo, has worked in a variety of functional fields for 25 years, including operations, finance, strategy, and commercial
Isidro Pablo Porqueras Orea has been appointed as the Chief of Transformation by InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, the largest airline in the nation, according to a statement released on Monday. His appointment is official as of Monday, according to a filing with the regulatory body.
IndiGo has been growing, and last week it revealed that it has placed an order for thirty wide-body A350-900 aircraft—a first since the airline’s founding. Additionally, it is expanding its domestic and international route network.
Orea has worked in a variety of functional fields for 25 years, including operations, finance, strategy, and commercial. From 2016 until 2023, he worked for the European airline Volotea, where he was the COO for the final five years. According to the petition, he has also previously worked for companies including McKinsey & Company, Urdsa, and Uralita.
On the BSE, IndiGo’s shares closed at Rs 3,920.05, down 0.41 percent.
IndiGo announced this week that it adheres to a fair succession preparedness process in the midst of several senior executives slated to depart their current positions.
Senior Vice President Suman Chopra and Senior Vice President Engineering S. C. Gupta of the airline would be quitting their existing roles. Executives claim they have been with IndiGo since the company began operations in 2006. In light of this, IndiGo stated that superannuation and retirement are normal processes in any organization and that senior decision-making is involved.
“We at IndiGo adhere to a just succession readiness procedure. Additionally, internal succession offers chances for personal and organizational development. By the end of the decade, IndiGo hopes to have doubled in size. It is working towards this goal.”
