With immediate effect, insider Matt Cox has assumed the position of senior vice president and general manager of Call of Duty at Microsoft, which last year paid $69 billion to acquire Activision Blizzard.
Microsoft said on Monday that Johanna Faries, a former “Call of Duty” general manager, has been named president of the game publishing division of Blizzard Entertainment.
With immediate effect, insider Matt Cox has assumed the position of senior vice president and general manager of Call of Duty at Microsoft, which last year paid $69 billion to acquire Activision Blizzard.
Faries joined Activision Blizzard in 2018 after more than ten years of employment in the National Football League (NFL). His appointment is effective on February 5.
Activision Blizzard and Xbox suffered 1,900 layoffs at the hands of Microsoft last week. Additionally, Blizzard lost its president and chief design officer, Mike Ybarra, as well as Allen Adham.
