Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), a joint initiative of Industry and the Government is driving Beyond Bengaluru mission to evenly spread the economic growth across the other emerging clusters of Karnataka. KDEM, on 20 August 2021, launched its office in Mysore (Mysuru) and global IT Company Glowtouch with its 500-seater operations to provide local employment today at Silver Spirit Technology Park.

Other dignitaries who participated at inaugural and the lighting of the lamp ceremony included His Highness Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Royal House of Mysuru, Shri. Prashanth Prakash, Chairman, Startup Vision Group, GoK; Dr. Ramana Reddy, IAS, ACS- Electronics, ITBT, S&T and C&I, Government of Karnataka, Shri. B V Naidu, Chairman of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, Smt. Meena Nagaraj, IAS, Director ITBT and MD KITS, GoK.
Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, Hon Minister while inaugurating the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission Mysuru office also launched the Beyond Bengaluru 100-days plan and the exclusive #FutureDigitalJobs@Mysuru initiative and addressed the gathering. He said, “Mysore and other clusters like Hubli and Mangalore will contribute more than 5 per cent of overall tech economy by 2030”.
He also highlighted KDEM’s “Future Digital Jobs initiative platform for the fresh engineering graduates in tier 2 and tier 3 cities to avail the job opportunities in reputed IT firms. The program will provide launch-pad training and jobs to the selected candidates. Mysuru is the frontrunner as far as this initiative is concerned and will provide road map for other Beyond Bengaluru cluster as well. The aim is to enable 2000 fresh graduates in Karnataka to be industry ready and provide them with a job opportunity in private sector in the next 2 months.
His Highness Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Royal House of Mysuru, shared his thoughts on Mysuru being a Technology Destination. He spoke about the recent Bherunda Foundation and KSOU MOU to set up a COE for Cyber Security, a proposal for the same has been submitted to GOK from a capex support standpoint. KSOU and Bherunda will jointly launch the Cyber Security certification program for industry and the government on the 5th of September. Mysore will now also be known as Cyber Security Hub and produce Cyber Lancers (Cyber Warriors).
Pavan Ranga, Partner – N R Group & Chairman – CII and Sanjay S, Director SSTP welcomed and shared their thoughts on Industry & Government partnerships and its positive impacts in shaping the “Beyond Bangalore” initiative.
Vidya Ravichandran, President of Glowtouch Technologies presented a short video about Glowtouch’s global operations and spoke about Mysuru’s potential for Glowtouch. She said that “the next important Centre for Glowtouch will be Mysuru. Shortly we will be around 500 people in the city.”
Dr. Ramana Reddy, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics ITBT, S&T and C&I, GOK explained about the Beyond Bengaluru initiative and its aspirations. He said “The Department is committed to provide all support to tap the full potential of Beyond Bengaluru clusters in Karnataka. We are seeing the early results like GlowTouch setting up in Mysore and iMerit already set up in Hubli and many more are in pipeline. We are planning a big outreach program to other industries both from IT&ITES and ESDM to attract them to our clusters.”
Giving a snapshot of how Karnataka Digital Economy Mission is driving the Digital Economy Growth in Karnataka, Shri B V Naidu, Chairman of KDEM, said “Creating 10 lakh job opportunity in our clusters is going to be a reality. Mysore is becoming a promising destination for GCC’s and ESDM. Mysore is also emerging as the happiest city with a balanced quality of life for industry, employees and businesses”.
Shri. Prashanth Prakash, Chairman, Startup Vision Group, GoK said that “Start-up and Innovation ecosystem in Karnataka is ranked top 10 in the world and will lead in creating momentum in Clusters. FutureDigitalJobs@Mysuru is a well thought out special program to tap the tech talent from Mysuru.”
Shri. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, MD & CEO – Lahari: While thanking everyone, Gupta said that Lahari and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission will lead the new road of ESDM sector growth in the Cluster.
