On September 1, 2024, Karthik Narain formally became Accenture’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), while he kept his position as Group Chief Executive – Technology.
This assignment, which marks a turning moment in Narain’s career, coincides with a change in the company’s leadership. Paul Daugherty, who is retiring from Accenture after a distinguished almost four decades, is succeeded by Narain. In his statement, Narain appreciated Daugherty’s significant contribution to the organization and conveyed his sincere gratitude for his inspirational leadership.
“I’m honored, excited, and energized in this moment. I strive to keep up with the passion for learning and drive progress across our clients and communities. I am grateful to my incredible colleagues who have supported and challenged me through this journey. Thank you all for your leadership, your trust, and your collaboration. I look forward to helping Accenture shine as its own best example of the amazing things that happen when you combine technology and human ingenuity,” Narain wrote on his LinkedIn post.
Narain has a background in technology and leadership, which is evident in his professional trajectory. He worked at Accenture as a Group Executive for Technology before taking on his new position. Prior to this, he worked at HCLTech from 2005 to 2015 as Vice President and Vertical Head for High Tech, which included Software & Platforms and Automotive. Narain has worked at Infosys in the past.
Narain holds a master’s degree in business and computer systems from Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli.
