Kenyan Shiro Theuri Appointed Glovo’s Global CTO

CIO Africa, September 4, 2024: Kenyan Shiro Theuri has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer for Glovo globally.

The software engineer announced her appointment on LinkedIn as she added Glovo among the organizations she has been able to be a tech leader in. Theuri joined Glovo in 2022, moving from Nairobi to Barcelona, Glovo’s global headquarters.

Prior to joining Glovo, Sheuri held several senior engineering positions at various startups and small businesses. She was the VP of Engineering at Sendy, an end-to-end fulfillment platform, and the CTO at FrontlineSMS, a mobile campaign messaging service.

“I am thrilled to get the opportunity to play a key role at Glovo and use my position to lead and drive innovation within the organization. My main goals will be to keep delivering excellence in our customer experience while building the best tech and data strategies to scale our platform in all our markets. As a passionate mentor for others, I’m also excited to use my role to empower more women and support diversity in technology while building the best technology team in Europe,” Sheuri said on her LinkedIn page.

Theuri holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Egerton University and a Master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
