KPMG Appoints Steve Frank as its New Chief Information Security Officer

Prominent cybersecurity specialist Steve Frank has been appointed Chief Information Security Officer for KPMG and KPMG Americas. Frank took over from John Israel, who moved to KPMG as the Global AI Security and Data Security Lead, when he made his appointment public on LinkedIn.

Frank’s background in his new position is impressive. His most recent positions were Executive Director and Deputy CISO of Kaiser Permanente’s Cyber Risk Defense Center (CRDC). He oversaw enterprise cybersecurity operations there, which included threat intelligence, digital forensics, incident detection and response, and SOC infrastructure management.

A noteworthy period of Frank’s career was spent at the CIA, where he held senior roles for more than 15 years, including Deputy CISO, Chief of Cyber Defense, and Technical Director of the Cyber Technology Office. He has also been a member of Praetorian’s Board of Advisors.

KPMG’s commitment to strengthening its cybersecurity leadership and protecting its international operations is demonstrated by this appointment.
