As CEO, Kumar is currently in charge of P&G’s operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Prominent FMCG manufacturer P&G India announced on Monday that Kumar Venkatasubramanian has been named CEO, effective May 1, 2024. After 28 years of service, the company’s current CEO, L. V. Vaidyanathan, will go to pursue personal interests, according to a P&G India statement.
As CEO, Kumar is currently in charge of P&G’s operations in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the report, Kumar led P&G India’s sales unit before taking on the Australia post until 2020.
Kumar, an IIM Calcutta alumni, began working for P&G in the Indian sales team as soon as he graduated in 2000.
Popular brands like Oral-B, Pampers, Pantene, Tide, Whisper, Ariel, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, and Vicks are owned by P&G.
P&G President, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa Stanislav Vecera said: “The India business and people will immensely benefit from his (Kumar’s) leadership and vision, and collectively, I am certain they will take the India business to new heights while maintaining a balanced growth outlook.”
In his new role, Kumar said: “We will focus on a portfolio of daily-use products where performance drives brand choice and raise the bar on all aspects of our superiority strategy—product, package, brand communication, retail execution, and value.”
Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care, Procter & Gamble Health, Gillette India, and Procter & Gamble Home Products (non-listed) are the four companies within P&G India’s operations here.
