Dr. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, the former metropolitan of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church’s Niranam Diocese, has revealed that he lost Rs. 15 lakh in a cybercrime.
The previous metropolitan of the Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church’s Niranam Diocese, Dr. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, has disclosed that he lost Rs. 15 lakh in a cybercrime. Mar Coorilos has reported things to the Cyber Cell and the Keezhvaipur Police Station. Mar Coorilos claimed in his cybercrime complaint that on August 2, he had a video contact from someone posing as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The caller threatened Mar Coorilos with false documents and accused him of being involved in a money laundering case involving Naresh Goyal, a resident of Mumbai.
According to the scammer, Mar Coorilos had a bank account in Mumbai that was used for nefarious financial activities. The con artist deceived him by using two distinct cellphone numbers and wanted money to stop him from suing. The money was moved to Jaipur and Delhi accounts.
