MFS Investment Management names Alison O'Neill as next CIO

She will succeed Edward M. “Ted” Maloney, who will take over as the company’s next CEO on January 1, 2025, as MFS Investment Management revealed in December.

Alison O’Neill, with effect from January 1, 2025, will be appointed chief investment officer of MFS Investment Management.

She will succeed Edward M. “Ted” Maloney, who will take over as the company’s next CEO on January 1, 2025, as MFS Investment Management revealed in December.

O’Neill has been with MFS since 2005, and as of late, he has served as co-CIO for equity.

According to a spokesperson, O’Neill will keep her title of co-CIO of equity “for the time being.” He refused to provide any more details. She will also continue to oversee the $6.6 billion Massachusetts Investors Trust portfolio and other institutional strategies maintained by MFS Investment Management.

As of February 29, MFS managed assets were worth $615.1 billion.
