Business operations across five locations of SAP Labs India: Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad, which employ over 15,000 people, were overseen by Anzy.

Mohammed Anzy, COO of SAP Labs India, has resigned after a 17-year stint with the German software major’s fastest-growing subsidiary and will be joining the NYSE-listed software company Guidewire as the VP of engineering and managing director of its India operations effective January. The latter has confirmed the development.

Anzy’s last working day with SAP Labs India is December 31.

By supporting underwriters craft policies and agents settle claims, over 540 insurance companies leverage Guidewire to run their platforms. Combining digital, core, analytics, and AI to deliver its platform as a cloud service, the company has 270 employees across Bengaluru and Chennai centres working on newer technologies.

Empowering customers and partners to scale their businesses through technology and process interventions, Anzy, as the COO of SAP Labs India, SAP’s largest R&D centre globally, has handled roles across development, consulting, strategic management, and entrepreneurship. Business operations across five locations of SAP Labs India: Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad, which employ over 15,000 people, were overseen by Anzy.

Anzy was the founding director of SAP Startup Studio, SAP’s first in-house accelerator that was set up in 2016. Since then, 33 startups have been enabled by the Startup Studio to scale and grow, and one of them turned into a unicorn.

Anzy was the VP and head of engineering for SAP Excise Tax Management, a SaaS-based application. The application is used to track and trace all tax-relevant goods movements for a warehouse. One of SAP’s extensive engineering transformation programmes, SAP S/4HANA Engineering Transformation, was led by him. He was also the director of strategy and operations at SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. Anzy is an alumnus of NIT Calicut and IIM Kozhikode and was also part of the Nasscom Product Council between 2019 and 2021.
