Telangana police detain Mumbai woman for allegedly transporting individuals to Cambodia to commit cybercrimes

An international job racket case has led Telangana Police’s cybercrime unit to the arrest of a 30-year-old Mumbai woman who is allegedly a recruiting agent.

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) claims that Priyanka Shivkumar Siddu, a lady from Chembur, Mumbai, is accused of trafficking job seekers to Cambodia, where they were pushed into engaging in cybercrime under suspicious circumstances.

The officials claim that Siddu opened her own illegal firm and deceived job applicants with promises of genuine employment visas after previously working at a now-closed job processing service. As part of Siddu’s plan, he collaborated with Narayana, another agent who knew someone named Jithender Shah, better known as Amer Khan, who was the director of a Chinese-owned business in Cambodia.

When Priyanka traveled to Cambodia to confirm employment openings, she was promised a commission of about Rs 42,000 for each individual she sent. She was the first to fall prey to her scheme when she returned to India and started arranging visas for her nephew Akshay Vaidhya and his buddy Danish Khan, according to authorities.

After making the difficult journey to Cambodia, Vaidhya and Khan were forced into engaging in cybercrime.

More victims were drawn in by Priyanka’s false advertising, including Vamsi Krishna and Sai Prasad from Hyderabad, who each paid Rs 30,000 for a visa. These people were subjected to physical and mental torture when they refused to comply with the demands of cybercriminals.

Siddu has been charged by the Telangana Cyber Crime Police under several laws, including those pertaining to cybercrime and human trafficking. Authorities are still investigating in order to fully understand the scope of her criminal network and the agony that her victims endured.
