Musk threatens to outlaw Apple products if OpenAI is included into the operating system

Billionaire Elon Musk said that if Apple included OpenAI into its operating system, he would shut down the company and introduce new tablet devices at his businesses.

Billionaire Elon Musk threatened to shut down Apple (AAPL.O) and launch new tab devices at his companies on Monday if the company integrated OpenAI into its operating system. “That is an unacceptable security violation,” stated Elon Musk in a statement on X. Musk is the CEO of SpaceX, a new tab and rocket maker, and the owner of the social media firm X. He also makes electric vehicles for Tesla (TSLA.O.). “And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage,” he stated.

Earlier in the day, Apple revealed a number of AI features that will be available in its operating systems and apps, as well as a collaboration with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into its hardware. Apple claimed to have designed AI with privacy “at the core” and to enable those capabilities with a mix of cloud computing and on-device processing. The fact that Apple can’t even create artificial intelligence on its own, let alone guarantee that OpenAI will preserve your security and privacy, is ludicrous.” Musk stated on X. Ben Bajarin, CEO of consulting firm Creative Strategies, stated that it was improbable that anyone would follow Musk’s example and that Apple was attempting to inform users that storing data on a device was just as safe as using a private cloud.

What Apple is attempting to add to the story at this point is that when data departs and moves to a secure private cloud, it similarly takes your user data and firewalls it. He said, “Apple really never sees that.” At the beginning of March, Musk filed a lawsuit against Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, which he co-founded in 2015, alleging that they had abandoned the company’s initial goal of developing AI for the good of humanity rather than for financial gain.

Additionally, he started his own company, xAI, with the goal of competing with OpenAI and creating a substitute for the well-known chatbot ChatGPT. In its most recent investment round, xAI raised $6 billion in Series B capital, valued at a total of $24 billion.
