Nigeria’s Cybercrime Centre looks to strengthen cybersecurity through collaborations among stakeholders

In order to improve the country’s cybersecurity, the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has urged stakeholders to work together more closely.

Speaking at a cybersecurity awareness campaign on Wednesday, Uche Henry, the director of the NPF-NCCC, emphasized the need for coordinated efforts by the government, law enforcement organizations, businesses in the private sector, and citizens to confront the growing risks of cybercrime.

The goal of the cybersecurity awareness program, which got underway in Abuja, was to combat the growing threat of cybercrime in Nigeria.

In the digital age, Henry emphasized the vital significance of cybersecurity.

“The digital age has introduced incredible advancements, but it has also created a new frontier of threats that could compromise the safety and privacy of our citizens,” he noted.

Henry praised Kayode Egbetokun, the principal host of the event and inspector general of police, for his support of the battle against cybercrime.

Henry claims that cybercrime is a global problem that impacts every industry, including government, healthcare, and banking.

He emphasized that in order to protect Nigeria’s digital environment, everyone must take shared responsibility.

He claims that in order to improve digital forensics, capacity building across sectors, and cybercrime investigation, the NPF-NCCC has worked with both domestic and foreign partners.

The NPF-NCCC promised to keep up its efforts to fight cybercrime and improve Nigeria’s cybersecurity capabilities, reiterating its commitment to protecting the country’s digital environment.
