OpenAI has been working on a new AI model called Project Strawberry, which is said to have better reasoning skills.
There has been a lot of discussion lately around OpenAI and the ability models. The AI company was reportedly developing an innovative approach for AI models under the project code named “Strawberry” in July, according to reports. According to a report published in The Information, OpenAI researchers are getting ready to introduce the new AI model, which was formerly known as Project Q* (Q-star). According to reports, the AI model that OpenAI is keeping under wraps has proven to have better reasoning powers when it comes to handling challenges.
Thus far, OpenAI has maintained a low profile on the project, and no publicly accessible information about it was found. Based on multiple reports, it appears that the Strawberry models are designed to not only respond but also plan and even browse the internet on their own. The study has apparently been referred to as “deep research” by the Sam Altman-led organization.
What is understood Project Strawberry may be included in ChatGPT this September through October, according to a report by The Information. This would represent an important step in AI intelligence. The Strawberry model is said to be able to challenge the subjects and even solve challenging problems like the New York Times Connections given more time to reflect.
According to the article, Strawberry is being used by OpenAI to produce stronger training data for another future LLM that is being kept under secret. It is said that this LLM goes by the code name Orion. The creation of AI agents by OpenAI may benefit from the new model. This might lead to more effective multi-step task automation.
If Project Strawberry lives up to the hype, it might represent an important step in artificial intelligence (AI) as its strong reasoning capabilities move OpenAI closer to realizing its goal of artificial general intelligence. Now, if OpenAI includes Strawberry into ChatGPT, it may represent the AI disruption that comes after ChatGPT’s initial release in November 2022.
