A pilot skills census in Mangalagiri will be launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh
On Friday, Mangalagiri officials were instructed by Andhra Pradesh’s Minister of IT, Electronics, and Human Resource Development, Nara Lokesh, to begin a pilot skills census survey. Lokesh represents the Mangalagiri Assembly constituency.

The IT Minister reviewed the skills census initiative and pointed out that in order to create resumes, the state government will gather information on applicants’ career history, educational background, and skill set.

“The government itself will make the resumes to give direct access to these profiles to companies. Thereby, we will enable a framework for companies to choose the candidates they want pertaining to a particular skills set,” said Lokesh in a post on X.

Lokesh states that the ultimate objective of the skills census is to provide a pool of competent talent to businesses looking to hire young people and fill those human resource gaps.

Andhra Pradesh IT secretary Saurabh Gaur noted that the skills census will create a 360-degree profile of individuals, which would contain their academic information, talents, goals, demographics, and others, at a virtual conference with potential investors on Friday from all over the world.

He noted that the exercise also aims to give the state’s more than three crore residents a foundational set of skills.
