Prem Chand Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Punjab & Sind Bank.
Prem Chand Kumar is an accomplished techno-managerial professional with over 30 years of rich experience in BFSI and government.
He started his career as a civil servant in the Bihar government and then his banking career with SBI. Prior to joining Punjab & Sind Bank, he was an advisor at SBI for a project for the strategic realignment of YONO. He held various positions in SBI up to the top executive grades and was a key resource in the research, design, implementation, and management of financial and banking innovations across alternate payment channels, payment systems, core banking, and fraud management at the State Bank of India.
Prem Chand Kumar is an alumnus of Patna Science College, Bihar College of Engineering (now NIT Patna), and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, from which he completed his Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering.
He has skills and certifications in/on IT project management (PMP), infrastructure management, IT service management (ITIL), information and cyber security, network (CCNA), and security management. Data Science and Analytics, AI, Agile IT project management methodologies, computer forensics, trade finance, digital banking, leadership development, etc. from institutes like IIBF, CISCO, PMI, IIM Indore, IBM, IDRBT, ASCI, SBIM, etc. Also, his research paper has been published in the International Journal of Computer Science and Applications.
While working in SBI, he managed to implement new initiatives and innovations for better customer satisfaction and enhancing security in the payment landscape by providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the development, maintenance, monitoring, infrastructure, security, and network management uptime, SW/HW upgrade, compliance, etc. of various payment systems.
