Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., May 23, 2024: Purdue University President Mung Chiang on Thursday (May 23) announced leadership updates at the university.

“As we look toward 2030 and the goals we have identified for our university, I am grateful to the entire team and the leaders who continue to achieve excellence at scale at Purdue,” Chiang said. “Identifying key leadership takes time, and these individuals have shown their respective expertise and delivery of results over the years. I look forward to working closely with all our outstanding colleagues.”

The following university leaders will report to President Chiang:

  • Currently senior vice president for partnerships and chief of staff, Alyssa Wilcox will continue to serve in the university cabinet with the rank of senior vice president and be charged with the responsibility, starting July 1, of focusing on planning for Purdue’s next capital campaign as the chair of the University Campaign Planning Committee (UCPC). The rest of the committee will be named throughout the summer, with representatives from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and across the university and its affiliated foundations.
  • Ian Hyatt, currently Purdue’s chief information officer, is appointed chief of staff to the president, starting July 1. Christian Theumer, currently deputy chief information officer, has been named interim vice president for information technology and interim chief information officer. Hyatt will report to President Chiang, and Theumer to Chris Ruhl, treasurer and chief financial officer.
  • Dimitrios Peroulis, currently leader of Purdue University Online, is appointed senior vice president for partnerships and online and will oversee the offices of industry partnerships, engagement, and global partnerships and programs, in addition to Purdue University Online, starting July 1.
