Among others, the business met with the executives of Qualcomm., Amazon, and Meta, according to the chairman of Samsung Electronics.
The chairman of Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) stated on Thursday that the company met with the leaders of Qualcomm (QCOM.O), Amazon (AMZN.O), and Meta (META.O), among others, to discuss cooperation. The topics discussed included chips, artificial intelligence, and cloud services. Mark Zuckerberg of Meta welcomed Jay Y. Lee to his house on Tuesday, and according to a statement from Samsung, they talked about artificial intelligence as well as virtual and augmented reality.
In order to discuss semiconductor cooperation, including memory chips for Amazon’s data centers and cloud services as well as chip contract manufacturing for Qualcomm’s mobile processors, Samsung claimed that Lee also met with CEOs Andy Jassy of Amazon and Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm. It further stated that Lee’s talks about working with the three American companies will be taken into consideration during a company-wide strategic meeting that the South Korean digital behemoth intends to have at the end of June.
Lee is in the United States for two weeks. In order to overcome a variety of obstacles, Samsung’s recently hired leader of its semiconductor sector has urged employees to work together. Samsung has lagged behind competitors in terms of processors, particularly high-end memory for AI. In addition to being one of Samsung’s main chip clients, Amazon and the company collaborate in a number of other areas, including TV, mobile, and entertainment. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile CPUs power Samsung’s high-end smartphones, and the two companies have lately extended their collaboration to include AI-enabled PCs.
Additionally, Meta is a client of Samsung Chips, having collaborated with the South Korean company on the development of the Gear VR headset and foldable smart phones.
