Santanu Chaudhuri has been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Management team member of Thermax Limited, a provider of energy and environmental solutions.
Chaudhuri will spearhead the organisation’s technological plans in his new position, concentrating on creating cutting-edge solutions to help the business’s environmental and sustainable energy projects.
He brings with him more than 27 years of international experience in computational chemistry, advanced materials engineering, and materials science. Chaudhuri taught civil, materials, and environmental engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago prior to joining Thermax. Additionally, he was the head of the Computational Materials and Production Program at the Argonne National Laboratory, where he oversaw the development of new materials and scalable production methods that made use of computational tools. His work has had a significant influence on fields like improved adhesive development and additive manufacturing, which use machine learning and nanoscale modelling.
A PhD in Materials and Computational Chemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook is part of Chaudhuri’s academic background. His career has been greatly influenced by his doctoral study in computational chemistry and innovative materials.
Additionally, he graduated from SAJ College in Calcutta with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics. He also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Post Graduate Institute of Management and an Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering Technology from PACE University in New York.
