A payment of Rs 116 crore has been provided by the state government to the collaboration managed by LTTS for building a state-of-the-art cybersecurity and digital threat analytics center. In 2023, the consortium lead, L&T Technology Services Pvt Ltd, and consortium member, KPMG India LLP, were granted a contract of Rs 838 crore. The project is expected to be performed in stages over a period of five and a half years.
The approved payment will be used to purchase and mobilize the required hardware for system integration. This is a big step toward building the fully AI-ML powered command and control center that will supply the Maharashtra Cyber Police with the latest cybersecurity solutions.
With the latest technology at the center, the Cyber Police will be able to successfully battle the increasing number of cyber offenses reported around the state, including social media forensics and tracking of deepfakes. This project must be performed in order to avoid or reduce the growing number of cybercrime cases and related dangers.
The command and control center will analyze data, spot vulnerabilities, and create plans to stop cyber offenses by utilizing artificial intelligence and digital forensic technologies. The project’s objectives are to strengthen Maharashtra’s cybersecurity framework and arm the Cyber Police with the resources and instruments they need to fight the growing field of cybercrime.
