The official Anadolu Agency said on Saturday that Amazon.com’s gaming platform Twitch was fined 2 million lira ($58,000) by Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK) for a data breach.
An investigation was started by KVKK following a 125 GB data leak. It was discovered that Twitch had neglected to implement sufficient security measures in advance and had only addressed the problem afterwards. Additionally, it claimed that danger and risk assessments had been inadequate.
In Turkey, the breach impacted 35,274 people. KVKK fined 250,000 lira for not reporting the incident and 1.75 million lira for insufficient security.
There was no quick comment from Twitch.
