Two more people have been taken into custody by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in relation to the Rs. 175 crore cyber fraud that the bureau discovered a few days ago.
On Wednesday, State Bank of India Shamsheergunj branch managers Madhu Babu Gali (49) and Upadhya Sandeep Sharma (34) were taken into custody. According to Director TGSCB Shikha Goel, the bank’s branch manager allegedly participated with the fraudsters, assisting in the opening of current bank accounts and assisting in the withdrawal of funds in exchange for a commission.
While the kingpin in Dubai is avoiding collection, the bureau also nabbed Mohammed Shoeb Tauqeer and Mahmood Bin Ahmed Bawazir. The gang promoted low-income individuals to create bank accounts by offering them a commission.
Cybercrimes were then committed using the accounts. The insider had said that Tauqeer was important in handling account setups and documents.
