In an effort to stop online scams, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command have joined forces to launch the “Beware of Cybercrime” public awareness campaign in collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Authority.
In order to identify fraudsters and stop prospective scams, the RAK Police Department of Criminal Investigations and the Media and Public Relations Department are leading a collaborative effort that aims to improve public-police interaction. The program is in line with the goal of the UAE Ministry of Interior, which aims to enhance people’s quality of life by providing proactive, intelligent, and creative services.
Director of Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Media and Public Relations Department, Colonel Hamad Abdullah Al Awadhi, clarified that the campaign consists of a number of in-person interaction sessions with cybercrime prevention specialists. These workshops will concentrate on methods and strategies that are frequently used by online criminals, including phone scams, phishing emails, phoney job listings, and phoney electronic links.
“The campaign aims to educate the public on how to avoid becoming victims of fraud, scams, and electronic blackmail,” he emphasised.
