The United States of America’s government has voluntarily provided €2 036 671.06 for the Council of Europe’s initiative to combat cybercrime.

With this additional investment, the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, which has supported the Octopus project since its inception, has now contributed a total of €6.5 million to the project.

On this occasion, Mr. Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General, met with Ms. Yvonne M. Gonzales, Deputy Permanent Observer to the Council of Europe and Consul General of the United States of America.
