Venkatesh Tarakkad has been appointed as the first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of upGrad, an integrated learning, skilling, and workforce development organization.
Tarakkad will operate out of upGrad’s Mumbai headquarters.
According to a release, Rohit Agarwal, who is now in charge of finance operations, will continue to play a significant role within upGrad’s ecosystem with this promotion, expanding his responsibilities worldwide to oversee operations in every location outside of India.

In the early 1990s, Tarakkad began his professional career with Ernst & Young.
