As the nation embarks on its inspiring and audacious journey towards Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047, this vision paves the way for a more empowered and inclusive workforce. It is a shared dream that is only possible through “Sab ka hath, Sab ka vikas.” As this new economic narrative unfolds, it offers a glimpse into the great potential that lies in the citizens, who are the pillars of growth and advancement.
Only a Viksit workforce will ensure a Viksit Bharat. Preparing a talent pool that is future-ready lies at the heart of the country’s growth trajectory. This calls for collective efforts on the part of every citizen, whether it be the students, employees and employers, educators, and organizations to realize this ambitious project. This is because every individual and every effort matters. It is only when everyone performs and reforms that we can truly transform.
This demands a robust strategy of empowerment. For a developed India, growth needs to begin at the very inception. Every student should have access to quality education and to opportunities for global growth. Celebrate their innovations and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset. Work towards inculcating skills that align with industry needs to ensure better employability. A great onus lies on educators to carve today’s students into the leaders of tomorrow.
To develop the human capital, it needs to be skilled and trained. More and more skills are taking the workplace by storm. Skills will definitely prove to be a game-changer in the hiring landscape. Companies are tapping into a diverse talent pool, which includes candidates who have gained expertise through non-traditional modes as well. Training yourselves in the relevant skills is key to bridging the gap between education and employment.
Organizations need to invest in the growth of their employees too, who are their most significant asset. By prioritizing professional development and continuous learning, companies can enhance employee skills, boost morale, and increase retention. By offering training programs and mentorship opportunities, companies reflect a growth mindset, which is pivotal for realizing the dream of a developed nation.
Although the government is doing its bit by proactively working towards upskilling the youth of the nation through its various schemes and initiatives, those efforts need to be backed by individual dedication and commitment towards building yourselves and, in turn, building the nation collectively.
All efforts driven towards advancement will fall short of expectations if the growth is not inclusive. Creating an ecosystem where every voice is valued and every perspective is heard will boost creativity. This would open up new avenues for growth, taking us one step closer to what we have envisioned.
This vision for shared growth is incomplete without the contribution of women. Ensure that women have equal access to opportunities to grow and sustain themselves in this competitive job market. Our commitment to gender equality and fostering an inclusive environment will fall short if efforts are not made consistently.
Also, meaningful change is possible not only by focusing on creating capable job seekers but also by nurturing job creators and innovators. Although the efforts of initiatives like Start Up India driven towards creating more employment opportunities are making a difference, a lot remains to be done. Foster a culture of collaboration and inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset, which will lay the foundation for India’s success story.
Although we have made significant strides, our journey to empowerment continues. As India braces itself to join the League of developed nations on the global stage, it will truly mark what we hope to achieve by 2047—a nation poised for extraordinary growth, thereby truly celebrating a century of freedom.
