The firm that created ChatGPT, OpenAI, declared that it will delay the release of its “Voice Mode” feature until July due to technical issues.
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, announced on Tuesday that technical difficulties would cause it to postpone the deployment of its “Voice Mode” feature until July. Originally scheduled to introduce the realistic voice chat experience to a select set of ChatGPT Plus subscribers in late June, the firm said that it was postponing the rollout in order to meet its launch requirement. For instance, we’re enhancing the model’s capacity to identify and reject particular types of information. In a post on social media site X, OpenAI stated, “We’re also working on enhancing the user experience and setting up our infrastructure to scale to millions while maintaining real-time responses.”
According to the firm, the service will be made available to all Plus customers in the fall, pending safety and dependability inspections, after being initially made available to a select sample of users to collect feedback. Additionally, OpenAI is developing new screen-sharing and video features. In an effort to maintain its lead in the competition to control developing AI technology, it announced in May that it would release a new AI model named GPT-4o. This model can communicate both textually and visually and can have realistic voice conversations.
With the addition of additional audio features, users will be able to interrupt ChatGPT in mid-sentence and speak with it in real-time, two features that AI voice assistants have found difficult to achieve in realistic discussions.
