Warren Sponholtz named as chief information officer of Florida

Florida’s VOICE, TALLAHASSEE, Florida: Warren Sponholtz has been named Florida’s new Chief Information Officer.

Sponholtz is an information technology professional who has worked at multiple state agencies, including the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

He is a lifelong Tallahassee resident and a United States Marines veteran.

The announcement said he has a “proven track record of driving IT modernization and innovation.”

While working for the Florida Digital Service, he served as the deputy state chief information security officer.

Sponholtz “led the charge in bolstering the state’s cybersecurity posture through comprehensive training, policy development, and robust governance frameworks.”

He is a native Tallahassee resident and went to Florida State University. He currently serves as a deacon at City Church.
