The self-service BI and analytics platform offered by Zoho has been updated. In addition to more than a hundred additional improvements, Zoho Analytics has created strong new AI and ML features that allow for automated report generation, predictive analysis, diagnostic insights, and dashboard creation.
A unique ML modeling studio, smooth OpenAI integration, over 25 new data connectors, and third-party BI platform extensions are all included in the platform’s current features. Compared to its competitors in the market, this updated edition offers more power, intelligence, and flexibility to serve a wider spectrum of organizations and users.
“Zoho Analytics was launched in 2009 as Zoho Reports, long before technology had caught up to Zoho’s vision for business intelligence,” said Clarence Rozario, Director of Product Management, Zoho BI & Analytics Platform. “Since then, Zoho has made considerable investments around automation, no-code/low-code development, third-party integration, machine learning, and Zia, our in-house AI engine. The latest version of Zoho Analytics is one of the first solutions from the company that takes advantage of every one of these decades-long investments. The result is a democratized platform that is powerful, intelligent, and flexible enough to benefit everyone and anyone.”
Thirty lakh users worldwide are utilizing the company’s BI platform, which was developed entirely in India. With a 67% increase in new revenue, Zoho Analytics now holds the second-largest market share in India. Large and medium-sized businesses in industries including ITeS, financial services, manufacturing, and retail are the main drivers of this expansion.
The increasing velocity and variety of data, the need for robust data management and governance, and the complexity and dynamic of analytical requirements are the three primary data problems that businesses confront today. Zoho Analytics has made progress in four main areas: data management, artificial intelligence (AI), data science and machine learning, and extensibility, in order to meet these demands and meet the market. Here are some noteworthy highlights from the platform throughout these categories.
Powerful data management hub
Establishing a strong data management hub is essential to enabling organizations to provide high-quality, appropriately managed data. In order to guarantee that organizations have wider access to more accurate data, the Analytics platform has increased the range of data management features it offers. These include the addition of stream analytics, ETL (extract, transform, load) data pipelines, and metrics-layer upgrades.
Along with 25 additional new data connectors, the platform has added Stream Analytics to its offering of 500+ data connectors. Users will be better equipped to consume, analyze, and utilize data as a result of being able to extract data streams in real-time. Furthermore, the platform now allows business users to design and oversee intricate ETL data pipelines. The visual builder offered by Zoho Analytics makes it simple for users to construct end-to-end data pipelines. With the Python Code Studio on the platform, they will now also be able to create custom transforms and ML models, allowing developers to include their customizations into the platform itself.
Ask Zia, Zoho’s AI assistant, will allow users to interpret natural language for even easier data transformation. Additionally, users will have access to a new Sandbox environment and automatic versioning system for strong data management. Businesses and users can now manage, monitor, and orchestrate pipelines in one location using the platform by utilizing Zoho Flow to orchestrate data pipelines. Users can define, standardize, monitor, control access, and catalog all business metrics in one pane with the New Unified Metrics Layer. Additionally, the platform can operate in Headless BI mode, which enables data apps to use the same metrics in real-time for reliable and consistent insights.
Business intelligence (BI) infused with GenAI
For a wide range of user personas, Zoho Analytics has accelerated the adoption of insights by introducing generative AI capabilities throughout the BI platform. The platform now supports diagnostic analysis, allowing Zoho’s automated insights engine, Zia Insights, driven by AI, to give contextual diagnostic analytics and incorporate decision intelligence. Ask Zia, Zoho’s multilingual AI copilot for natural language querying, has been improved so that users can now create bespoke data models and initiate actions. Ask Zia may also be used to provide deeper, quicker, and more relevant insights and actions via instant messaging systems, such as Microsoft Teams.
Furthermore, Zoho Analytics now offers Auto Analysis, allowing for AI-powered automated dashboard, report, and metric creation. Furthermore, more accurate and relevant query responses are produced by Zoho Analytics’ smooth OpenAI integration, which is made possible by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) encryption-enabled OpenAI APIs make it easier for users to locate public datasets and formulate formulas and structured query language (SQL) searches. The platform now offers more effective, relevant, approachable, and intelligent insights and actions thanks to all of these AI-powered improvements.
Data science and machine learning studio
With the help of the Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML) Studio, Zoho Analytics now gives users the ability to create robust custom machine learning models for particular business needs. This Studio provides AutoML, a no-code helper for quickly creating unique ML models. It allows users to train, test, compare, deploy, and manage models through feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and thorough model analysis. In addition, Code Studio—the platform’s newly integrated Python code environment—allows users to import Python models or externally developed libraries that may be used within the platform, in addition to creating unique machine learning models.
Platform extensibility
With new features like its actions architecture, BI fabric, no-code builder for data connectors, and client Software Development Kits (SDKs), Zoho Analytics is now more extensively extensible.
Any analytical solution can be constructed on the modular Zoho Analytics platform. Businesses can now combine findings from several BI platforms, like Power BI and Tableau, into a single, searchable analytics portal thanks to the new BI fabric. Fine-grained access permissions allow for control over who can access the portal. Additionally, users can initiate actionable workflows, such as URL and Webhook actions, within Zoho Analytics.
More than 500 app triggers are enabled by the platform’s seamless integration with Zoho Flow. With the help of Zoho Analytics’ no-code data connector builder, customers may design unique connectors to import data from any custom application. Additionally, partners can create data connectors that the Zoho Marketplace will publish and sell. More than 100 improvements have been made to the latest version, which also includes improved dashboard building, audit and admin controls, redesigned mobile apps, support for Right-to-Left (RTL), and more.
