Piaggio, the creator of Vespa, introduced a production robot on Tuesday that can lift up to 130 kilograms and uses artificial intelligence to move autonomously on predefined courses.
Piaggio, the maker of Vespa, unveiled on Tuesday a manufacturing robot that can lift up to 130 kilograms and utilizes artificial intelligence to operate autonomously on predetermined paths.
The Italian business stated that the robot would be used on the production lines of its motorcycle brand, Moto Guzzi, in Italy, followed by additional facilities in Italy, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
The device, named “kilo” and created by the group’s U.S. robotic mobility unit, Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), can follow its operator, travel up to 100 pre-recorded routes, or drive independently, Piaggio stated.
Kilo robots can “move safely with and around workers in complex environments” and would be ideal for use by “any sector that relies on the repetitive movement of goods,” according to PFF chief executive Greg Lynn.
