Infosys to acquire Kaleidoscope to expand services in the US medical, consumer markets

Infosys said Kaleidoscope Innovation leverages a deep understanding of healthcare environments, strong product development capabilities across disciplines and management consultancy-style come to addressing human factors, product design, UI / UX design, study and insight, development and visualisation.

 IT services major Infosys has acquired Kaleidoscope Innovation, a US-based full-spectrum product design, development and insight firm that works across the medical, consumer and industrial markets of the The United States. However, the company has not revealed the total value of the Kaleidoscope transaction.

 “This acquisition demonstrates Infosys’ commitment to innovating for its clients, and make a meaningful impact on human lives by combining cutting-edge technologies and experiences to revolutionise patient care, treatment, diagnostics and consumer health across the world,” a company statement said.

 Infosys said Kaleidoscope Innovation leverages a deep knowledge of medical environments, strong field-based product development capabilities, and consulting-style approach to addressing human factors, product design, UI / UX design, research and insight, development and visualisation.

 The firm also has a marquee and diversified client base with state-of-the-art, in-house labs, 3D design environments and customer experience centres.

Kaleidoscope designs microsurgical instruments and equipment used in minimally invasive surgery, drug delivery systems for ophthalmic therapies and user-centric wearables. “It also provides usability tests to support regulatory submissions, including the delivery mechanism for aortic stents,” the statement said.

 “Our customers will benefit from a combination of Kaleidoscope’s powerful upstream product innovation and design offerings and Infosys’ stack of global product engineering, validation and marketing services” said Ravi Kumar, President, Infosys.

 Matt Kornau, CEO & Co-Founder of Kaleidoscope Innovation, said that the deal would allow it to expand rapidly and bring expanded AI, Analytics and Digital Technology services to customers. “We feel that Infosys shares these same values and will open up new avenues for our client partners and our staff to pursue greater opportunities together,” said Matt.
