In 2019, Prabhakar became a part of Atlassian as the Head of HR Partners for Asia Pacific.

The leading supplier of software for teamwork and productivity, Atlassian, has announced that Avani Prabhakar has been promoted to Chief People Officer.

Assuming leadership of Atlassian’s People department in this capacity, Prabhakar will oversee Human Resources (HRBPs), Employment Relations, Talent, Total Rewards, People Insights, People M&A, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and Team Anywhere throughout Atlassian’s worldwide reach, per a release.

Prabhakar was employed by the company prior to this elevation in the capacity of Global Head of HRBPs. In 2023, she expanded her role to cover employee relations, talent, and DEI teams. In 2020, she became the People M&A team’s leader.

In 2019, Prabhakar became a part of Atlassian as the Head of HR Partners for Asia Pacific. According to the announcement, she has 20 years of expertise in the technology, aviation, insurance, research, and analytics sectors and has worked in APAC, the Middle East, and the US.

“In the last four years alone, Atlassian’s headcount has nearly doubled, and as we continue to scale at speed, I couldn’t think of a better people leader to steer our future growth,” stated Erika Fisher, Chief Administrative and Legal Officer of Atlassian.
