Sunil Varkey has moved on from HSBC and joined Forescout Technologies Inc. as the Chief Technology Officer of the firm’s EMEA & APJ regions. Founded in 2000, Forescout – the software company provides cyber-security solutions and compliance services and works with global enterprises and government agencies.
The new Chief Technology Officer of Forescout, in HSBC was leading the global cyber-security assessment and testing vertical and served in the capacity of Global Head-Cyber security assessment & testing.

IT, OT, and IOT technologies that touch enterprises expose potential risk, visibility, and security of which is critical for the success and foundation of security programs. In this new role, I will be focusing on customer success and solution effectiveness by leveraging Forescout technologies and strategy”, said Varkey.
With over 25 years of leadership experience, Chief Technology Officer – Varkey is specialised in Information Cyber Security with large corporates in banking, telecom, ITES, software, and manufacturing around the globe. As Global Head of Cyber Security Assessment & Testing, in the last assignment at HSBC, he led several projects such as life-cycle ecosystem of penetration testing, threat modelling, vulnerability management, and third-party security risk assessments in pre & post-production environments.
He has served leadership roles in his global professional experience at companies such as Symantec in the role of Chief Technology Officer & Security Strategist. At Wipro, he served a stint of six years as Global CISO, and Idea where he led the cyber-security and privacy teams. He has completed his engineering from MVJ College of Engineering-Bangalore University, and later he studied MBA from ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India). He has also studied leadership programs from IIM-A and ISB.
