Danone India appointed Shashi Ranjan as MD

Ranjan will be in charge of Danone’s strategic plans in India, with an emphasis on growing the business’s footprint, fortifying alliances, and promoting long-term development.

The appointment of Shashi Ranjan as Managing Director for Danone India was announced by the multinational food and beverage firm Danone on Friday.

According to a release, Ranjan has 20 years of expertise in organizational transformation, strategic management, and corporate leadership.

Ranjan was the President and Country Head of Sebamed in India before joining Danone India. He has held important positions at IBM Consulting, McKinsey & Company, and Johnson & Johnson in the past.

According to the announcement, Ranjan had previously worked for the Indian government in several regions of the country in general administration and strategic responsibilities.

As he assumes this new position, Ranjan will be in charge of Danone’s strategic plans in India, with an emphasis on growing the business’s footprint, fortifying alliances, and promoting long-term development.

In 2023, Danone employed about 90,000 people and sold its products in more than 120 markets, according to the announcement. Its sales totalled €27.6 billion.
