Dido was the head of technology and digital at Access Bank before joining FNB Eswatini.

Dido wa Kalonji has been named as the new Chief Information Officer of the FirstRand group company, FNB Eswatini, which has been in business in the Swazi kingdom since 1995. Dido will be in charge of the bank’s technology as CIO and exco member.

Dido was the head of technology and digital at Access Bank before joining FNB Eswatini. He was the CIO at UBS Investment Bank before coming to Access Bank. Before that, he worked as a technical support manager at MiX Telematics and as a manager of development and applications at Deloitte.

Dido graduated from the University of Pretoria with a bachelor’s degree in information systems and visual communication and from the University of Liverpool with an MSc in information systems and IT.

Dido said that providing your staff with the necessary freedom is a leadership responsibility in order to retain a strong team. Additionally, he supports maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

“People often talk about work-life balance, but I talk about work-life integration; you cannot view the two separately. Do what you need to, but also be able to meet deadlines,” he says.

Dido likes to support Chelsea, spend time with his family, and play football socially in his own time.
