Digitally transforming businesses: Imaginea becomes a part of Accenture

Irish firm Accenture has acquired the US-based Imaginea, a cloud-native product and platform engineering firm. The initiative has been taken in order to help companies drive innovation through disruptive technologies to transform their businesses digitally and capture new opportunities. The financial terms of the acquisition are yet not disclosed.

Imaginea, which currently has offices in London and India and advises more than 200 global clients to deliver cloud-first transformations, will further enhance capabilities of Accenture Cloud First, which was created to help clients across every industry in becoming a cloud-first business. The acquisition adds approximately 1,350 cloud professionals to Accenture, bringing a highly skilled, cloud native, full stack engineering team with cloud data and cloud modernization skills across multiple platforms from Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud platform.

For digitally transforming the businesses, cloud is an essential foundation. Leveraging cloud native capabilities will help companies to transform experiences, harness advances in technologies like AI, robotics, edge computing and 5G, and break the limits on productivity and innovation to create sustainable value.

Accenture was recognized as a leader among service providers involved in transforming businesses digitally

In November 2020, Accenture was positioned as a leader in the Forrester Wave™: Digital Business Transformation Services, Q4 2020 report. The report from the independent research firm includes an analysis of the 10 most significant services providers involved transforming businesses digitally, who ranked the company highest in Market Presence based on revenue related to CEO-driven digital transformation services, employee counts, and geographic locations.

To find the right transformation partner, Forrester recommends that customers involved in transformation of businesses digitally, should look for providers that will put skin in the game as a transformation partner, combine industry, technology, and organizational expertise into outcome delivery and accelerate time-to-value with usable software assets.

Accenture was recognized as a leader with the top score in the current offering category, as well as the technology transformation and operational transformation criteria. The firm received the highest scores within the strategy category, possible in transforming businesses digitally, accelerator asset development, and partner ecosystem criteria.

The scope of the report includes the collection of consulting capabilities, which is required to accelerate a client’s ability to successfully transform its business model. This includes transformation of traditional business to a modern digital one, with deep capabilities in support of clients looking to innovate and digitally transform business models to drive new revenue growth. This research along with evaluating a firm’s ability to help clients build their own transformation capabilities digitally also looks at how well the firm can deliver the capabilities on behalf of the client.

Accenture, currently with 506,000 employees, who deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day and serving clients in more than 120 countries, is a global professional services company with leading capabilities in digital, cloud and security.
