Across ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics services, the partnership linking the e-wallet will see the pair combine their ecosystems and support millions of Gojek users in the country
A partnership has been announced by Indonesia’s Gojek and Vietnam’s MoMo, two super apps in their respective countries, linking the latter’s e-wallet to the former’s app in Vietnam.
Across ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics services, the partnership linking the e-wallet will see the pair combine their ecosystems and support millions of Gojek users in the country. This marks Gojek’s first time collaborating with a Vietnamese tech firm, said Duc Phung, General Manager of Gojek Vietnam.
According to a statement, to offer users more payment options on its app, the integration of MoMo’s services is part of Gojek’s strategy, following the launch of its card payment feature last year. The partnership linking the e-wallet will link Gojek to MoMo’s over 31 million users.
“Through this partnership, we also hope to help Gojek’s driver and merchant partners reach more customers, increase their income, and recover from the pandemic”, said Nguyen Ba Diep, co-founder and senior vice president of MoMo.
The partnership linking the e-wallet follows Gojek’s official launch of its GoCar car-hailing service in Vietnam in November 2021. With two CEOs departing within less than two years, Gojek also recently reshuffled its leadership team in the country.
