Ambani said that Jio is working with Microsoft to expand the Azure ecosystem cloud-enabled business applications and solutions for small and medium enterprises in India and Intel for cloud-scale data centres and 5G edge locations

Reliance Jio, for its 5G network in the country, said that it is working with telecom gear makers Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Cisco. It is also working with Facebook-owner Meta, Google, Microsoft and Intel.

To deploy the 5G network as opposed to its 4G network, Jio is bringing new telecom vendors where Samsung was the sole technology provider.

Bharti Airtel had also awarded 5G contracts to Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung for its 5G network. The Sunil Mittal-led telco had never worked with Samsung in the past.

To develop an ultra-affordable 5G smartphone, Jio is working with Google, Mukesh Ambani revealed, adding that both companies are working together on Google Cloud.

In India, Jio and Google had previously launched the JioPhone Next 4G smartphone. The phone was co-developed by both companies including the operating system.

Ambani said that Jio is working with Microsoft to expand the Azure ecosystem cloud-enabled business applications and solutions for small and medium enterprises in India and Intel for cloud-scale data centres and 5G edge locations.

“Jio is privileged to have some of the world’s leading technology players as strong partners in the ‘Made in India’ 5G collaboration,” Ambani said.

Jio also forged collaboration with Qualcomm to develop 5G solutions for India, which can be taken to the rest of the world, Ambani revealed. Jio is working with Meta for immersive technology-based use cases.
