Serbian President Vucic announces electric Fiat Panda model to be manufactured in Serbia

Serbia’s President Vucic stated that he expects automaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI) to produce an electric Fiat Panda in the country’s largest city.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that he expected automaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI) to manufacture an electric Fiat Panda city car in Kragujevac, Serbia’s major city.

Vucic, who addressed the group after meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, did not provide a particular timeframe for the start of production.

Vucic stated that the production of the electric Fiat Panda will increase bilateral commerce between Italy and Serbia over the present 4.6 billion euros per year.

The current generation of the electric Fiat Panda is manufactured near Naples, Italy, and the replacement model is scheduled to arrive in mid-2024.

Stellantis, formed by the merger of France’s PSA and Fiat Chrysler in 2021, and the Serbian government signed a 190 million euro deal in 2022 to make electric vehicles in the Kragujevac facility, which formerly produced the Fiat 500L model.
